What the FFF?

Founded in 2005 by an ever growing group of young designers and vagabonds eager to collect and share the best design work they came across, FormFiftyFive soon became an international showcase of creative work.

Although the site was doing a great job at sparking creativity, we felt it could, and should, be even bigger and better. So we spent many moons working on a brand new FormFiftyFive, still high in eye (and brain) candy, but with a brand new look and lots of new features that dig even deeper into what’s happening in the design community.

We’ve also added more interactive elements on the site so people can exchange and store ideas more easily, encouraging collaboration and making the site more than just another design blog.

So have a look round, if you see something you love or hate be sure to comment, and drop us a line if there’s a juicy bit of creative gold you’d like to see on here.

Keep it real, the FFF team.

Joe has been in touch, letting us know he’s just graduated from Iowa State University and is now on the lookout for work. His reel is online, so have a gander.

  5. The most redeemable feature of the reel was the presentation, which isn’t actually his work. If it wasn’t for that, I doubt it would have been posted.

Perhaps you should give kudos to the other guy?

  7. It was the presentation which, for me, was the highlight. However, I’d imagine the concept/direction was Joe’s.

Fair play to the other guy though, he could easily have been in Dawson’s Creek.

  9. Im pretty sure the guy presenting Chris is actually Joe, there is no credit to Chris. I loved the idea and the presentation but didn’t really see any work which I thought was as good unfortunately.

  11. Interesting (if Chris is actually Joe – and that thought did cross my mind), but why would someone do that? It’s needlessly confusing and would have had the same effect without the pseudonym. If you’re presenting it to industry, hopefully they don’t react the same way I did.

  13. For anyone interested, this may clear a few things up. The curator is not Joe. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.public.iastate.edu/~nscentral/news/08/aug/img/kutilek.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.public.iastate.edu/~nscentral/news/08/aug/kutilek.shtml&usg=__QYWYBjqJY5NQGgWE7OO2iI-fqMI=&h=226&w=170&sz=12&hl=en&start=2&um=1&tbnid=6gMWP1QhjNIlzM:&tbnh=108&tbnw=81&prev=/images%3Fq%3DJoe%2BKutilek%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26um%3D1

  17. These are the facts. This was entirely Joe’s creations, and the curator is a friend who majored in acting. The entire thing was Joe’s idea and his creating. The presentation was all his motion graphics and the people seated watching the presentation were his teachers and colleagues. Joe actually put himself in the video, try and find him. But yes, this was put on the site because of the presentation and he made that. The presentation was made up of all of his pieces of work, just clips of them put together. His reel didn’t define his pieces of work but more his talent with motion graphics.
Hope this cleared some things up!

  19. Joe created a commercial for Gossip Girls that aired for a month on TV, which he won a contest with that to get an internship in Warner Brothers, he created a video for the 2008 Iowa State volleyball team, a music video for Incubus, and much more. Those are the clips you see during the presentation
