Spotted the new Penguin Magnum Collection in Borders this weekend, grouped together looking lovely (and also appearing on the increasingly design-conscious Esquire website). A simple idea beautifully executed: classic American reportage matched with images from the Magnum photography archive. Not sure who’s responsible for the design though – any ideas?

My Penguin mole tells me they were the brainchild of Rowland White (editor) and Penguin Art Director John Hamilton, with additional input from in-house designer Richard Bravery and of course the Magnum archive people. Beautiful work.
