What the FFF?

Founded in 2005 by an ever growing group of young designers and vagabonds eager to collect and share the best design work they came across, FormFiftyFive soon became an international showcase of creative work.

Although the site was doing a great job at sparking creativity, we felt it could, and should, be even bigger and better. So we spent many moons working on a brand new FormFiftyFive, still high in eye (and brain) candy, but with a brand new look and lots of new features that dig even deeper into what’s happening in the design community.

We’ve also added more interactive elements on the site so people can exchange and store ideas more easily, encouraging collaboration and making the site more than just another design blog.

So have a look round, if you see something you love or hate be sure to comment, and drop us a line if there’s a juicy bit of creative gold you’d like to see on here.

Keep it real, the FFF team.

Inspiration / Matthew Wahl — Update

There have been some beautiful updates over at Matthew’s Flickr photostream since Gil posted him back in 2008. I’m really enjoying the work for the Sovereign Grace Ministries and the Next typeface (pictured above) and I know I’ll never get tired of this poster.

Here is some info from Matthew’s Flickr profile: I am a graphic designer living/working in a Maryland suburb of Washington DC. I graduated from The Corcoran College of Art + Design in 2001 with a BFA in graphic design. Currently I’m art director at Sovereign Grace Ministries, and freelancing “in my spare time.”

And some more from Matthew himself: As a Christian, it’s been incredibly rewarding to design for something I care so much about. This has been a huge motivator for me to grow as a designer, and never settle with ‘ok’ work. I’ve wrestled a lot with the problem of clear communication within my work, and it’s my hope that I’m making a thoughtful contribution (both to Christianity and the design world) that strikes a healthy balance between style and content.
