You have to admit that this customized version of Google by Infinise Design does look beautiful! Why can’t Google apply this thinking of simplicity to it’s actual sites? Now I’ll never have to use the google homepage again. Whoop!

Founded in 2005 by an ever growing group of young designers and vagabonds eager to collect and share the best design work they came across, FormFiftyFive soon became an international showcase of creative work.
Although the site was doing a great job at sparking creativity, we felt it could, and should, be even bigger and better. So we spent many moons working on a brand new FormFiftyFive, still high in eye (and brain) candy, but with a brand new look and lots of new features that dig even deeper into what’s happening in the design community.
We’ve also added more interactive elements on the site so people can exchange and store ideas more easily, encouraging collaboration and making the site more than just another design blog.
So have a look round, if you see something you love or hate be sure to comment, and drop us a line if there’s a juicy bit of creative gold you’d like to see on here.
Keep it real, the FFF team.

Pretty cool. Do you reckon frustration with mobile phone displays played a part in this being developed? Clear, unlcluttered, very large search field…

This is far better than the original one. I love it.

Nice Idea but it fails a basic colour contrast/luminosity test for the visually impaired, I like the idea but It would be better if everyone could see it?

I really don’t have a problem with the original, it does the job nicely.

OK, they could darken it a little! But can’t actually like the look of the current Google homepage David? (Even though it does do it’s job well

Good idea with different search, but in Safari on mac is really hard and annoying to over and click on that arrow appear near to logo. 5 times tried without any result, arrow disappear before…

http://blackle.com/ – not great graphics (i.e., the beveled logo!), but i always liked the black background.

Form over functionality. Yes it is pretty looking but turn JS off and it instantly falls over. This wouldn’t hold up on the majority of mobile browsers.

Unfair comparison! Half the information that is on the current Google homepage is missing.
I agree it has a more thought out look & feel but there has been no attempt to clean up and deal with what’s already on the current site. Surely that is a much greater design challenge?

I like it really black like with Blackl search engine.
http://www.blackl.com
The black Google background from Blackl and the renewable energy logo look really cool against a dark Google background.
I do have to say that the Google you are showing is really good. I am using it whenever I am not using the black Google version, Blackl.
