I loved my time studying at Duncan of Jordanstone, but if I was to do it all over again it’d probably be at Scandinavia’s most high-profile creative institution, Sweden’s Hyper Island. I became aware of the course back in The Day while at art college, through one of their promotions (they created and packaged vinyl toys). Since then i’ve admired the course and it’s graduates from afar, so was delighted to stumble across this video, getting more of an insight into the processes behind the work.
Well done to those INT boys, where I found the link.

I may be way off the mark here but I always thought you had to be able to speak Swedish to be considered for entry. This might not be the case now but I’m pretty sure it was when I looked into Hyper Island a good number of years ago. I also got the impression that Hyper Island was a sort of post-graduate affair. The kind of place you’d go to after a degree. Something like a masters.
Would be great if someone could clarify

Hi,
you do not have to know Swedish to enter a program as a Diploma Program student. You have different programs at Hyper Island on different levels.
Please contact emre.gurler@hyperisland.se if you are English speaking and want to apply as a Diploma program student (for fees look at the Hyper Island site).

They now offer English program, it’s way expensive tho.
And I think you can go there for a degree? At least that was my impression of it.
