V&A’s new campaign created by Saint and Karsten Schmidt is an open-source ever changing artwork. By visiting the Decode website people can create their own versions. Some of the user-generated creations will be posted on the Decode website (check the current gallery), while the best ones will be displayed on advertising screens in the London Underground.
Browse through the CR Blog for more images from the ongoing exhibition.

Looks great!
But the application doesn’t work and requires a ludicrous process of fiddling with command lines and Java updates to even install.
I’ll give Karsten Schmidt the benefit of the doubt and assume that this load of rubbish is an ironic joke about the old days of the web when idiot designers expected users to have specific browser sizes, to download plugins and to wait for ages for huge files to download.
But it’s a bit of a shit joke to be honest.
