Ralph is a young award winning creative digital shop with studios in London, Los Angeles and New York. We specialise in the entertainment sector producing innovative and cool interactive campaigns to promote movies, TV shows, video games etc. Clients include Universal Pictures, Lionsgate, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros.
We are looking for a Senior Flash developer to join our team in London. You will be used to working in a small development/studio environment that is fast paced and very hands on and have a great understanding of design, video and audio.
Required skills:
- Solid knowledge of ActionScript 3 and Object-Oriented Programming
- Good understanding of the integration between client-side and server-side technologies
- Working with XML generated by server-side scripts (Using AS3′s E4X parsing functions, XML and XMLList objects)
- Uploading files from ActionScript
- Using Facebook Connect, and other 3rd-party APIs (Google maps, YouTube etc)
- Audio/video integration (Creating MP3 players, skinning the FLVPlayback component, basic understanding of video compression)
- Thorough knowledge of the AS3 event model (responding to keyboard and mouse events, drag and drop, adding and removing listeners, subclassing the Event class for custom events, strong vs weak listeners)
- Good knowledge of animating both using the timeline, and from ActionScript using a tweening engine
- Good understanding of importing graphics from Fireworks or Photoshop
- Solid understanding of what can be achieved using Flash’s filters, blend modes, different methods of masking, AS3 drawing API
- Good understanding of font embedding in Flash
- Capturing user input and validating input fields
- Using the ExternalInterface for JavaScript interaction
- Good understanding of Flash’s security model, especially cross-domain issues
- Experience working in a 3rd-party code editor (FDT, FlashDevelop, Flex Builder)
- Decent knowledge of maths (trigonometry etc)
- Basic HTML, JS, CSS
Desirable skills:
- Good knowledge of design patterns
- Experience using AS3 frameworks (PureMVC, RobotLegs, Cairngorm etc)
- Experience with Flash remoting (ZendAMF, BlazeDS, AMFPHP etc)
- Creating basic custom 3D engines
- Game development physics (e.g. 2D and 3D collision detection and collision response, gravity, missile trajectory)
- Knowledge of PHP and MYSQL
- Knowledge of Regular Expressions
