Art Editor required by The Media Factory to produce exciting new lifestyle magazines.
We are looking for someone with following skillset:
• creative, with a highly developed ability to communicate visually
• adept with page design software and the internet
• ensure that a consistent look and feel to pages is conveyed across the publication.
• a strong communicator, able to brief others clearly on what is needed
• confident in presenting ideas
• interested in magazine trends and graphic design.
• participate in all planning meetings and maps content of each page of Magazine;
• design or supervise design of all Magazine pages;
• supervise and schedule any less senior designers, illustrators, photographers or other Magazine staff members assigned to the Art Editor.
• coordinate with other editors to ensure that production is completed in a systematic way;
• works collaboratively with Magazine photographers, artists/illustrators and graphic designers to ensure best possible design;
• with the production staff, communicate and coordinate about scheduling, problem-solving, technical specifications, and other matters;
• attend staff and editors’ meetings;
• provide supervision, advice and, when needed, training to other persons working on Magazine design and graphics.
• monitor Magazine page design to ensure that all components are consistent with adopted Magazine design style.
• maintain orderly and timely computer folders, including archiving all content from each issue of Magazine
