What the FFF?

Founded in 2005 by an ever growing group of young designers and vagabonds eager to collect and share the best design work they came across, FormFiftyFive soon became an international showcase of creative work.

Although the site was doing a great job at sparking creativity, we felt it could, and should, be even bigger and better. So we spent many moons working on a brand new FormFiftyFive, still high in eye (and brain) candy, but with a brand new look and lots of new features that dig even deeper into what’s happening in the design community.

We’ve also added more interactive elements on the site so people can exchange and store ideas more easily, encouraging collaboration and making the site more than just another design blog.

So have a look round, if you see something you love or hate be sure to comment, and drop us a line if there’s a juicy bit of creative gold you’d like to see on here.

Keep it real, the FFF team.

Inspiration / Edits by Edit

Edits is a new limited edition poster series curated by Edit featuring: Bas Koopmans, Collective Approach, Duane King, Hey Studio, Manual Creative, Mark Boyce, Leterme Dowling, Sane & Able, Studio Makgill, Toko, Trevor Jackson, This Studio & last but not least Nitzan Hermon – who is also behind this project.

Each designer was asked to represent a musical genre using one shape and one type (stating the genre). I had a chance to get a little more information out of Nitzan about bringing all these designers together.

Leterme Dowling

Can you tell us a bit more about yourself?
I am a (nyc based – moved a couple of months ago from London) designer as well as well a DJ/ label manager (Fine Art Rec) and often engage in collaborative work – this is the launch project for Edit.

Hey Studio

Where did the idea for this poster series come from?
The posters were curated over the course of a year. I was initially influenced by Excergian’s series and thought the concept would work well if applied to music genres, the brief was represent a musical genre in one shape and one typeface (only stating the genre).

Toko

How open where the designers to getting involved in the project?
The brief was not made public and I got in touch with designers directly. All of the designers were great, and very engaged in this (there are actually some extensions/ further access points we’re working on).
