Low Carbon D&AD Annual

The new low carbon D&AD Annual Looks like the first I would actually like to take a real good look at. Refreshing to see that it has not become a self indulgent plaything for the designer. D&AD Annuals should be about celebrating and showcasing the best of design and advertising. In my opinion the annual itself should merely facilitate the showcase of this work in a clean, organised, structured way rather than trying to grab all the attention itself. Harry Pearce and the team at Pentagram involved look to have done an excellent job in both the lean design and choice of sustainable materials to create what they suggest is the most carbon friendly annual to date. Airwalk Invisible Pop Up Store

GoldRun and Young & Rubicam created the world’s first invisible pop-up store, bringing limited edition Airwalk sneakers directly to the biggest skate & surf spots in the country.

People could visit a physical location and use their smartphone in connection with augmented reality & geo-location to see the ‘virtual store’ and order a limited edition sneaker right there.

LUFF Propaganda

Great us of old school 3D style specs here completed by Demian Conrad Design for the Lausanne Underground Film & Music Festival (LUFF). The project was a long process that took severals months but the result is pretty astonishing. The Challenge: create 2 levels of readability, a “mainstream” level and an hidden “underground” level. Nike Better World

Better World is a lovely new site for Nike that has been doing the rounds on Twitter.

Put together by W+K It’s a deceptively simple one page scroller with parallax scrolling and a great example of good use of HTML5 / jQuery.
