Open Studio Club went live last Friday. It’s a website that lets creative people swap or rent studio spaces around the world. It’s a bit like couch surfing for creative studios.

The brilliant ATSIS project has released a new collaboration, this time with Welsh outfitters – Howies. You can purchase ‘Do What You Love’ by Andy J Miller as either a print or tee. It follows their collaboration with Tiny Showcase website to sell the poster designed by Always With Honor. If you’re a first year student in the UK and you’ve not yet requested a free poster – sign up sharpish!

Central Station are currently going through some big changes, with Central Station v2 set to launch at the end of this month. The primary change to the site will be a shift in focus away from being an online community towards becoming a ‘network of networks’. Those with profiles and work on the site may want to make sure they have their projects available to view on other networks such as Béhance, Flickr and Vimeo, as the Portfolios section will be removed as part of the change. You can read more about the changes in the recent Central Station v2 blog post.

As part of the launch, Central Station will be running ‘50 Artists in 50 Days’, which will see a different member featured every day for the first 50 days of v2. A great opportunity to gain some free publicity if you get in there early enough. Check the 50 x 50 post in Central Station’s Opportunities section for details.

Montreal-based EN MASSE is a collaborative drawing initiative, who create highly spontaneous, large-scale murals and public installations. They have been described as “an ongoing exercise in irreverent, improvised collaborative drawing — a boundary-blurring cocktail of high and lowbrow culture, pop imagery fragmented like shattered glass in a spontaneous, multi-genre, black-on-white collision.”

Memo Akten is a one off. Founder of The Mega Super Awesome Visuals Company, his work ranges from large-scale immersive interactive installations; live visuals for music / dance / theatre performances, music videos; to online works and mobile applications. He worked with the The Found Collective on this Wombats music video, designing and developing software to process live footage of the band. Pointe Blank is a physical and online exhibition of original artwork organised by Rob Lindsay at Birmingham Royal Ballet and designer Claire Hartley.

‘An exhibition of original images inspired by the story of Coppélia. In a first-of-its-kind project for Birmingham Royal Ballet, 27 artists and designers have been invited to produce individual pieces of artwork based upon toymaker Doctor Coppélius, and his attempts to breathe life into his most prized creation’.

It features the work of Ashley O’Brien, Ben Javens, Chris Henley, Christine Hughes, Claire Hartley, Crayonfire, Darren John, Dave Hughes, Gavin Auty, Harriet Grey, The Hidden Dingbat Collective, Ian, Caulkett, Jamie Littler, Jimmy Rogers, Jo Spencer, Katie Parry, Luke Tonge, Mezzetty, Middle Boop, Nathan Monk, Rachel Tighe, Ryan Dean-Corke, Sam Pierpoint, Sarah Ray, Simon Wild, Studio Family and Sweaty Eskimo.
