Avant garde editorial work from Netherlands duo Niessen & de Vries. Even though their website isn’t the most user friendly in the world, their mix of work certainly makes up for it.  Try the overview for a quick glance at their folio.

Like a kid with a fresh pack of Crayola’s, Adrian Johnson breaths real character and vitality into his own style of illustrations. Bright, extremely colourful and very endearing, it’s no surprise that Adrian Johnson has been snapped up by Big Active. Lots of great work in his folio for both print and animation. If you’re wondering why some of the illustrations look fimliar, you’ve probably seen him in the pages of FFF favourite, Monocole Magazine.

For those of you particulalrly enamoured with Adrian’s work there’s an interesting interview with the man courtersy of the ever popular Grain Edit.

Michael Bojkowski is one of those guys who must be able to bend time. The amount and quality of content he produces is envy inducing. Involved in lot sof different projects and studios on a freelance basis I’m sure this certainly helps.

His freelance studio ok interrupt showcases a strong folio of editorial design and publishing boast clients such as Esquire UK and YCN. LineFeed/Press Publish another side project, is a chance for him to discuss his indulgent love of magazines and dable in independent publishing which I’m sure has helped land him lots of work and guest contribution in this field of design such as contributing monthly graphic design staple, Grafik Magazine.

The long list of work goes on. If you’re short on time though I recommend checking out Michael’s comprehensive flavors.me site for a good overview. If you have some more time, watching one of the Line Feed Reading Lists or this interesting video of London typographic history tour are both highly recommended.

After two highly successful issues and a nomination for this years Brit Insurance Design Awards, the It’s Nice That boys are back to their old tricks with their third issue of the magazine which has just been sent out to print and is now available for pre-order.

This issue sees promising interviews with Milton Glaser, Sir Paul Smith, Tom Dixon and Tom Gauld to name but a few. We’re also excited to see a feature from Geoff McFetridge who has also created some unique work for the magazine.

The word ‘legend’ is banded about all too easily these days. Having said that, a real living legend—Milton Glaser—was recently honoured with the 2009 National Medal of Arts from President Barack Obama. This year, Glaser was one of twelve recipients of the award for outstanding achievements and support of the arts in the US. Interestingly, this is the first time that this award has been given to a graphic designer. Heartfelt congratulations to Mr Glaser on this thoroughly deserved accolade.
