Some great Xmas cards from studios kicking around this year, I’ve decided to post 1 a day that I find particularly appealing. I’m kicking it off with this stirling effort from London branding studio VentureThree — such a simple idea, but an amazing execution. I also found their previous effort from 2009 very appealing.

Griffin Moore is a multi-talented chap, with a cool moustache and an even cooler name. Interests include; pilgrims, pumpkin patches, skeletons, old folk music, bells and hats. One to watch.

Aaron Koblin is an artist specialising in data and digital technologies. He has worked on the awesome Arcade Fire website for The Wilderness Downtown (see earlier FFF post here), aswell as the amazing Radiohead House of Cards project— which you can move around in 3D stylee on his website. Another more obviously data driven project, is the Flight Patterns project where he took data from the U.S. Federal aviation administration and processed it to create hauntingly beautiful animations of flight traffic patterns and density. Memo Akten is a one off. Founder of The Mega Super Awesome Visuals Company, his work ranges from large-scale immersive interactive installations; live visuals for music / dance / theatre performances, music videos; to online works and mobile applications. He worked with the The Found Collective on this Wombats music video, designing and developing software to process live footage of the band. William Joyce’s “The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore” is an interactive narrative experience for the iPad. Put together by Moonbot Studios, the app blurs the line between picture books and animated film.
