Open Studio Club went live last Friday. It’s a website that lets creative people swap or rent studio spaces around the world. It’s a bit like couch surfing for creative studios.

So, if you’re thinking of working for a bit in Berlin or New York next year, Open Studio Club can help find a space.

For today’s instalment of christmas card goodness, this effort from Sydney ad agency Host, impressed with it’s mix of video, real world experience and some ‘whoah cool what the heck is that’ technological gee-whiz-ardry — they topped it off with a funny name inspired by the unfortunate name of the street the agency is located on. Another massive production, so I’m hoping to find something simple, beautiful or clever for tomorrow.

Over the past couple of months Getty have been interviewing some talented folks in digital media for their Spotlight Series. Asking the likes of Ian Coyle, Florian Schmitt (Hi-Res), Vassilios Alexiou (Less Rain) & Daniel Howells (SiteInspire, Kulör & the previously featured 52 Network) – what lies behind their work. Central Station are currently going through some big changes, with Central Station v2 set to launch at the end of this month. The primary change to the site will be a shift in focus away from being an online community towards becoming a ‘network of networks’. Those with profiles and work on the site may want to make sure they have their projects available to view on other networks such as Béhance, Flickr and Vimeo, as the Portfolios section will be removed as part of the change. You can read more about the changes in the recent Central Station v2 blog post.

As part of the launch, Central Station will be running ‘50 Artists in 50 Days’, which will see a different member featured every day for the first 50 days of v2. A great opportunity to gain some free publicity if you get in there early enough. Check the 50 x 50 post in Central Station’s Opportunities section for details.

MiaCara is a brand new label of high-quality dog accessories, designed & produced with the dog and it’s owner in mind. In collaboration with information architect Sebastian Waters & Web Developer Patrick Beser, I designed the identity & brand guidelines as well as the website and printed materials.

The site offers customers a user friendly shopping experience, as well the option to view large background lifestyle images that directly link to the products in view. Photographer & FFF contributor Malcolm Menzies did a stellar job combining naturally lit animal portraits with beautiful interiors.

ViewRL is a twitter visualiser that simplifies your stream by turning links of photos, videos and websites into easy to glance through thumbnails without having to click a link. Yet another excellent little side project by the Young Team!

It’s still in Beta at the moment and Young are keen to get your feedback. They are also currently developing a desktop app for the project.
