Wallpaper* and Phaidon have made a name for themselves over the years for producing small but well crafted city guides for the self discerning tourist. A pocket sized and well designed guide can be a real insight into a city’s character but carrying around a city guide isn’t for everyone and does shout out TOURIST. However, Wallpaper* have developed their city guides into a line of iPhone apps that are as well designed as the guides themselves if not lacking a little in content.

Currently Wallpaper* are giving away the Berlin City guide on the iTunes App Store for FREE. Yes FREE. So go grab a copy now and get your tickets booked for Berlin. Oh and £2.39 for each other city guide, it’s pretty competitively priced though we’d still like to have the printed publication as well.

British graphic designer, FFF Contributor and all round good guy Greig Anderson has set up a new studio in Glasgow and has posted a few updates on the Effektive Site. Look out for more solid work from Greig in the next 12 months.

The book will roughly consist of 200, perforated pages that can be easily torn out and hung up or given away to spread smiles.

A very slick and sumptuous portfolio from London-based studio Egelnick and Webb. Featuring some stunning art direction and nicely crafted typography, print and web work for a range of top fashion brands, as well as a few other household names.

Toben are one these Australian studios that just made me thinking — Is the air on the other side of the Earth different, full of little creativity booster molecules? Aside from their lovely work, they got a tasteful presentation too.
