We haven’t had the Danish multi-disciplinary arts & design duo Hvass & Hannibal on FFF since since we started in 2007. Great to see that Nan Na Hvass & Sofie Hannibal have been keeping them selves busy!
Big portfolio update by Tyler & Elsa Lang better know as Always With Honor.
One of our FFFavourites Pietari Posti has updated his portfolio. Filled with the sort of exquisite illustrations and beautiful colour combinations we have come to expect from the Barcelona based Finnish illustrator.
French born designer & illustrator Thomas Danthony was kind enough to take the time to collaborate with us on our latest interactive masthead. His portfolio is definitely worth a closer look. His work has an eerily still quality, like a still from a movie.
Thomas is represented in UK by Handsome Frank.
Chris Dent has updated his portfolio. Off the back of
His hand drawn work captures cityscapes and architectural shapes in a really charming and original perspective
It’s been over 3 years since we last featured friendly design duo Crispin Finn, famous for producing quality design and goods released in limited quantity at affordable prices all in Red, White and Blue. In that time they’ve continued to produce tricolor illustration, design, screen prints, stationery and homewares – they also release a great series of themed playlists. Check out their shop, tumblr, and this recent interview with Coolhunting.
New website for artist, graphic designer, typographer, illustrator and writer Rob Lowe, AKA Supermundane
Robin Davey, master of seamless, detailed and quirky animated illustrations. I could sit watching the same three seconds for hours on end hypnotised by the repetitiveness of it all.
As well as producing quirky animated gifs he’s also turns his hand to more traditional short animations for commercials, apps and games.
I love this short video showing a still frame break down for work he did on The Tate Movie Project.
In our latest Freunde von Freunden interview we gain a rare glimpse into the lives of Singapore contemporary art & design collective PHUNK. Alvin Tan, Jackson Tan, Melvin Chee and William Chan met during their studies at LASALLE College of the Arts and in 1994 PhunkStudio was formed. Sharing one Macintosh in a rented space in Chinatown, the beginnings were rudimentary to say the least. Without anything other than a dream, they drew on each other’s friendship and creative talents to reach for the skies.
Emerging from a creative climate that could best be described as a cultural desert, like their hometown of Singapore, this group have grown, evolved and diversified to seek out new opportunities and create new histories. PHUNK represent a new generation of free-thinkers who are forging new professional pathways. Embracing collaboration, and the, ‘creative meeting of the minds’, their joint efforts have resulted in the establishment of a studio and gallery that works with a range of artists and brands to produce innovative projects.
Each member maintains a different day job while working simultaneously for the collective that informs their approach to PHUNK. Alvin has his own sunglasses line called Mystic Vintage; Jackson works on branding and curatorial projects for various companies; Melvin produces commissioned paintings; and William runs a motion graphics and film production company. While offering a tour of their studio and gallery, they provide some insights into daily life in Singapore and discuss how their ultimate project is always their next collaboration.

London agency Stereo have launched their new site, packed full of two years worth of previously unseen work.
The posters are made on demand using digital printing and high quality paper, and I can vouch for the quality of the prints. The shop is well worth a visit!
Matt Chase is a designer & illustrator (recently turned freelance) living and working in Washington, DC (the way he tells it is much more exciting) but I’ll let his work speak for itself. Keep up to date with him on twitter & tumblr.
Teagan White is a freelance designer & illustrator originally from Chicago, now living in the woods by the Mississippi river in Minnesota. Her work encompasses intricate drawings of flora and fauna, playful watercolors of anthropomorphic critters, illustrated typography, and everything in between… and feels perfect for this time of year. Check out her portfolio site, then follow her on tumblr and twitter.
Polish illustrator Olka Osadzinska combines a semi-pixel rendering style to create a lovely bright and intimate look to her work. Combined with her ability to compose capture close moments between her figures it’s no wonder it lends itself to lifestyle, youth and fashion brands like Hugo Boss, Nike and Rebook.
When she’s not busy depicting the lifestyle of a fashionista she organises one of the most successful art fairs in Warsaw the Art Yard Sale and continues to exhibit work worldwide.
